Unit #62 of the American Legion Auxiliary meets
Dunkirk Memorial Unit #62 of the American Legion Auxiliary met Tuesday, April 8 at 7 p.m. in the Central Avenue Clubrooms.
The meeting was conducted by President Del Jusko. Chaplain Anna Schlichter offered the prayer.
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and the Preamble to the American Legion Auxiliary were recited in unison. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Treasurer Kyle Ahlstrom gave her report. Poppies have been received and the members will be distributing them in May.
Eight delegates, along with Craig Sutton, the County Commander, attended the county meeting in Frewsburg at the Samuel L. Derby American Legion on April 10.
It was voted to give the Post a monetary donation.
The district meeting will be held in Canaseraga on May 3.
The spaghetti dinner was a huge success. Proceeds will be used for mandatory donations and veterans projects.
All members are asked to help at the chicken barbecue which will be held Memorial Day at Post 62 on Central Avenue. Tickets are available now from members and at Post 62.
Election of officers will be held at the May meeting.
A swiss steak dinner will be held at a date to be announced.
With no further business, the meeting was closed with a prayer by the Chaplain.
