Do you Remember?


This picture from the Aug. 1, 1980 EVENING OBSERVER shows the forsythia shrubs that provided a mass of color each spring on the John D. Koch property at Harrysbourg. The shrubs were purchased at the Dunkirk Garden Club’s first annual forsythia sale (which was about 1955). In 1980, Mr. and Mrs. Koch were working to save the shrubs which were damaged in an ice storm on March 3, 1976.
