Hillbillies drop second in a row, fall to Harbor Creek

HARBORCREEK, Pa. – The Fredonia Hillbillies (5-2, 2-0) made the trip to Pennsylvania Saturday and came away with a 7-4 loss to the Harbor Creek Huskies in a non-league baseball contest.

Weston Ley took the loss for Fredonia, allowing 6 runs – only three of which were earned – and striking out two while walking four.

Jared Burmaster entered in relief and finished the game by allowing one run and striking out four with two walks.

The Hillbilly offense managed only four hits on the day.

Ley had two hits while Matt Sheridan and Noah Voss had a hit apiece.

“Weston is now 10-2 in his career,” Fredonia head coach Vince Gullo said. “The umpire had a very small strike zone (Saturday) in 42-degree weather. He got behind a few hitters and had to lay it in there for them to swing away. We faced a tough lefty, but it was another good non-league tune up for us.”

Fredonia travels to St. Francis on Tuesday for a 4 p.m. non-league matchup.
