County Executive to speak to League of Women Voters on May 7; public invited to attend
On May 7, County Executive Vincent Horrigan will speak to the League of Women Voters on the economic future of the County and the steps he plans to take in furthering it. The occasion is the annual meeting of the League, a gala dinner to be held at 6 p.m. at the White Inn in Fredonia. League members will vote on the budget and program priorities for the coming year and for members of the Board. There will be an award presentation for Leaguer of the Year, this year shared by Paula Coats and Laura Sarek. A basket of local products and artifacts will be raffled.
The public is cordially invited to attend the dinner or to come after dinner to hear Horrigan, who will be speaking at approximately 7:45 p.m. His topic could not be more timely, in view of the devastating news of the closing of The Carriage House, the possible closing of Lake Shore Hospital, and the recent loss of Petri, not to mention that of other smaller enterprises. After his presentation, Horrigan will answer questions from the audience.
Reservations for the dinner ($26) may be made through Judy Reynolds, 305 Chestnut Street, Fredonia, NY 14063, 672-4283, firstname.lastname@example.org.
People who intend to come only after dinner to hear Horrigan are asked to inform Reynolds by May 3, so that she can make suitable seating arrangements.
