Kassman’s offense lifts Lady Wolves to win
WESTFIELD – Taylor Kassman had three hits to lift the Westfield Lady Wolverines (4-1, 3-1) to a 7-2 victory over Clymer on Tuesday in CCAA West II high school softball
The Lady Wolverines scored three runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by a bases-loaded, two-out single by Kassman. Savannah Rowan ripped a triple and scored on a wild pitch for the winners. Amy Meleen added two infield singles for Westfield.
Laura Tofil was the winning pitcher as she went six innings with seven strikeouts, five hits, five walks and two runs. Carson Hauser pitched the final inning and struck out two and gave up just a hit to close the door on the Lady Pirates.
Clymer scored both of its runs in the sixth inning as Andrea Fredenburg doubled to score a run and Amy Griffin added an RBI single.
The Lady Wolverines embark on nine games in the matter of 11 days, starting today at Panama.
