Johnson shines on mound for Brocton Monday

RIPLEY – Brocton’s Ryan Johnson was in control for seven innings as he lifted the Bulldogs (2-2) to a 4-1 victory over Sherman (1-1) in a CCAA?West II baseball game Monday.

Johnson threw a three-hitter, striking out 17 while walking none as the Bulldogs scored twice in the second inning and twice in the seventh.

Nash Delcamp and Latham Dunn both had suicide squeeze bunts for the winners.

For the Wildcats, Ryan Robson took the complete-game loss with 14 strikeouts and gave up six walks and four hits.

Jake Card doubled for Sherman and scored the only run, and Jake Ames had an RBI.
