Gators down Knights

ALLEGANY – Despite a three-win performance from Emily Harford, the Silver Creek Black Knights were unable to get past Allegany-Limestone Tuesday afternoon, as the Lady Gators cruised to a 100-41 CCAA Division I girls track & field win.

Harford was first in the 100 in a time of 13.9 seconds while also taking first in the triple jump (29-feet, 11-inches) and the pole vault, in which she cleared a meet-best 9-feet.

Also for Silver Creek, Hannah Seiders was first in the 400 hurdles (1:12.3) and the 200 (:29.2) while also taking second in the 100 hurdles in a time of 17.3 seconds. Kelsie Orr was first in the discus after her throw of 86-3.

Courtnie Vaughn took first in the 800 (2:36.2) and the long jump (13-4) to pace the Lady Gators.

On the boys’ side, the Black Knights (0-1) fell to the Gators (1-0), 98-42.

Silver Creek’s Ryan Ruia won the 800 with a time of 2:29.8 while Mike Elwell took first place in the pole vault with a leap of 10-6.
