Sherman man charged with stealing scrap
SHERMAN – Daryl Freeman, 44, of Sherman was taken into custody Sunday by State Police in Jamestown after an investigation into a report of trespassing and stealing scrap metal.
Freeman was found to be in possession of the stolen scrap metal and was transported to the Jamestown barracks for processing.
He was issued appearance tickets for fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and trespass to the Sherman Town Court and released.
Derby man charged with DWI, causing accident
LEWISTON – Timothy J. Cooper, 59, of Derby, was charged Wednesday with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.
Niagara Falls State Police patrols received a report from the Niagara County Sheriff’s Dispatch of a two-car accident on the Robert Moses Parkway. Patrols responded and found one vehicle on its side. The operator was transported by Rural Metro Ambulance to Erie County Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries, treated and later released.
The second vehicle operated by Cooper was located north of the accident scene.
Cooper was transported to the Niagara Falls barracks where he refused to submit to further breath testing. He was issued traffic citations, released and is scheduled to appear in Lewiston Town Court at a later date.
Dunkirk Police Department
Farhan Shaikh, 32, of East Courtney Street Upper was charged with second-degree menacing and second-degree harassment on April 16.
Jose Hernandez, 29, of Ruggles Street was charged with failure to register as a sex offender on April 17.
Robert Morse Sr., 71, of Ruggles Street was charged with passing a red light after an accident at Lake Shore Drive East and Main Street on April 17.
Carmen Rodriguez, 33, of Maple Avenue was charged with second-degree harassment on April 18.
Deon Stanford, 21, of Swan Street was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and operating a motor vehicle while on a mobile device on April 18.
Richard Olson, 32, of Buffalo was charged with third-degree assault and criminal obstruction of breathing on April 19.
Steven Rivera, 36, of Swan Street was charged with forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child on Monday.
Traiquane Nance, 24, of Plover Street was charged with three counts of second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, resisting arrest, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and no insurance on Wednesday.
Maria Concepcion, 31, of Grant Avenue was charged with criminal trespass on Thursday.
Ramon Rosa-Quentana, 33, of Grant Avenue was charged with third-degree assault on Thursday.
Fredonia Police Department
Four people were charged with violating a noise ordinance on April 14, including Jabari Noel, 19, of SUNY Fredonia’s Disney Hall, Zachary Jones, 19, of Schulz Hall, Jacob McCoy, 21, of Brigham Road, and Joel Vandick, 22, of Central Avenue.
Jennifer Sheffield, 23, of West Lake Road, Dunkirk, was charged with petit larceny on Monday.
Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office
BEMUS POINT – William J. Bean, 30, of Bemus Point was wanted by the sheriff’s office for third-degree felony burglary. Bean’s warrants were canceled due to being recalled by the court. Bean was removed from the county’s most wanted list.
CHAUTAUQUA – Raymond A. Gates, 28, of Potter Road was charged with being a fugitive from justice on Wednesday. Gates was taken into custody at his residence at 8:09 p.m. He was wanted out of Erie County, Pa., for a probation violation. Gates was sent to the Chautauqua County Jail pending extradition to Pennsylvania.
New York State Police at Jamestown
- ELLICOTT – David W. Swanson, 47, of Jamestown, was charged with driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop on Route 60 for failing to dim his headlights.
Swanson was transported to the Jamestown State Police barracks where a blood alcohol content of .09 percent was obtained.
Swanson was issued an appearance ticket to Ellicott Town Court and released to a third party.
