Lake Erie Bird Club meets Monday

Lake Erie Bird Club meets Monday at 7:30 p.m. at BOCES, Fredonia-Stockton Road, Fredonia. The program will be “Celebrating Birds.”

Margaret Braun will display her collection of hand-painted bird ornaments. Diane Andrasik will present the accompanying program. All are welcome. For details call 673-1627.

Lakeshore Humane Society plans Pet Adoption Day/Open House Saturday

The Lakeshore Humane Society will hold a Pet Adoption Day/Open House at its Adoption Center on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at 431 E. Chestnut St. Dunkirk.

The public is welcome to come to see the facility, and meet some of the dogs and cats who need caring homes.

Lyme Disease Awareness event Tuesday in Fredonia

A Lyme Disease Awareness event will be held at the Angels of Hope, 8 Park Place, Fredonia on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Presenters will be Brenda Reading and Gail Heil. The documentary “Under Our Skin” will be viewed. Information about symptoms, diagnosis and testing, and treatments will be available. This is a free event. Gowanda Harley-Davidson to host

E-Scrap 4 Camp

Gowanda Harley-Davidson, 2535 Gowanda Zoar Road, will host E-Scrap 4 Camp to benefit Camp Good Days from Monday through May 2.

There is no charge to turn electronic trash into proceeds for Camp Good Days. Electronics will be accepted 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., on Thursday and Friday.

City Planning Board meeting canceled

The city of Dunkirk Planning Board meeting scheduled for Thursday was canceled. The meeting will be rescheduled and announced at a later time.
