Meredith pitches T’birds to 7-2 win
RIPLEY – The Chautauqua Lake Thunderbirds (3-1, 4-2) defeated Clymer (1-2, 1-2), 7-2, behind the 12 strikeout, complete-game effort of winning pitcher Tyler Meredith.
Meredith walked five and scattered seven hits in picking up his second complete-game victory of the young season.
Chautauqua Lake was led by Braydyn Wappat’s two hits, including a double. Meredith doubled and Tyler Furlow added a two-run homer for the winners.
For the Pirates, losing pitcher Jacob Wiggers went five innings, striking out three, walking five and allowing five unearned runs.
Evan Woods led Clymer with three hits, one good for a double.
