Irene Bentley, age 81, of Fredonia died April 25, 2014 at the UPMC- Hamot Hospital in Erie Pa.
She was born in Cassadaga on April 16, 1933; the daughter of the late Hilda (Moll) Goulding.
A Fredonia resident for most of her life, Irene was a retired housekeeper at the White Inn and Head Housekeeper at the Holiday Inn/ Days Inn.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. An active person always on the go, she enjoyed yard sales, Senior League Bowling and her monthly card club. She was an active member of the Laona United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her children: Suzanne L. (Robert) Barresi, Steven (Debra) Bentley, Mark (Terry) Bentley, and Cheryl (Christo-
pher) Brunecz all of Fredonia; five grandchildren: Michael and Sarah Barresi, Matthew Bentley, Jacob and Nicholas Brunecz; and her great-grandson Timothy “T.J.” Brunecz. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her mother, she was pre-deceased by her husband of 59 years, Richard D. Bentley, who died June 30, 2007; and two brothers, Daniel Goulding and James Goulding.
Funeral services will be held April 29 at 11 a.m. from the Laona United Methodist Church. The Rev. Mike Spell will officiate. Interment will follow in the Laona Cemetery. Friends may call at the Newman Funeral Home Inc. from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. The family suggests memorials be made to the Laona United Methodist Church.
