Westfield man, 41, charged with setting fire intentionally

WESTFIELD – A Westfield man has been charged in connection with a Clinton Street arson. Westfield Police announced the arrest of Timothy D. Dulmus, 41, of 51 Clinton St., in a press release Monday.

Dulmus was taken into custody on Saturday in connection with the blaze at 41-43 Clinton St. Westfield Fire and Police departments responded to the early morning blaze at the vacant, multi-dwelling residence on April 9.

According to the Chautauqua County village tax roll, the property is owned by PW Realty of Fredonia, LLC. The Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team determined the fire was intentionally set. The cause of the fire was determined to be trash set on fire near the rear of the building.

A joint criminal investigation by the Westfield Police Department and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Investigation Unit allege Dulmus intentionally set the fire. A warrant was signed by Village Court Justice Jeff Thomas and was served on Dulmus at 2:57 a.m., on Saturday.

Dulmus was taken into custody without incident at his residence. He was arraigned in Westfield Village Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash or $40,000 property bail.
