Hot bats lift Lady Billies to 18-3 win

The Fredonia Lady Hillbillies (7-0, 5-0) scored five runs in the second, five runs in the fourth and five more runs in the sixth to take down the Frewsburg Bears, 18-3, Monday in CCAA West I high school softball.

Fredonia’s Alicia Deering went 2 for 3 with a two-run homer and a double. Deering’s homer came in the fourth inning to make the score 7-0, and essentially put the game away.

Winning pitcher Baylee Tarnowski had a solid performance as she went four strong innings, allowing one hit, no walks and five strikeouts. At the plate, Tarnowski had two hits with a triple and an RBI while Caitlyn Cybart went 2 for 4 with an RBI in the win.

The Lady Hillbillies travel to Frewsburg today.
