Jamestown drug bust nets two
JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Police located marijuana, ecstasy, drug packaging materials and cash during two separate drug busts Tuesday morning.
At 7 a.m., Jamestown Police SWAT executed two separate search warrants – one at 303 Crescent St. and one at 823 Prendergast Ave.
Police located a large quantity of marijuana and drug packaging materials at the Crescent Street address. Randalea Rivera, 26, was taken into custody at the location. Rivera is charged with second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony. She is being held in city jail awaiting arraignment.
Police discovered ecstasy pills, marijuana, drug packaging materials and cash at the Prendergast Avenue residence. Raheem Butts, 23, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class C felony, criminal use of drug paraphernalia and fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana. Butts is being held in city jail pending arraignment.
This is not the first time Butts has been jailed on drug charges. In February of last year, JPD executed a search warrant at 31 Charles St. and charged Butts with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police located cocaine and cash inside Butts’ apartment.
In June of 2012, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office charged Butts with second-degree promoting prison contraband. While being held on narcotics-related charges, Butts allegedly made and possessed jailhouse wine/hooch. Police said a cell search led to the discovery of a jar full of homemade wine in Butts’ cell.
In January 2011, police charged Butts – along with three other Jamestown males – after a fight involving knives and shovels on Cherry Street.
