Stanley A. Burzak
GOWANDA – Stanley A. Burzak, age 81, of Cemetery Hill Road, Go-wanda, NY passed away at home Tuesday, April 29, 2014
He was born in Buffalo April 1, 1933 the son of the late Stanley and Anna (Jerzesky) Burzak.
A United States Navy Veteran, Stan honorably served his country during the Korean War.
Stanley retired from NYSEG where he worked as a lineman. He retired in 1994 as a Supervising Lineman for the Gowanda NYSEG office.
His memberships included St. Joseph’s RC Church, Gowanda Moose #1382, the Slovenian Club, Little Valley American Legion Post (Past Commander), James Cruden VFW Post 5007 Gowanda (Life Member), Hanover Fish and Game Club, the Walleye Association of Hamburg, along with the NRA.
Survivors include Dona Sek of Gowanda (Stan and Dona have shared their life together for over 21 years); a son, Roger Burzak and three daughters, Linda Rak, Cheryl (Tom) Matern, Susan (Ray) Baker, Dona’s children Mark (Carolyn) Sek, Michael (Cynthia) Galley and Sue Marsh. Stan is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Jeri (Richard) VanEtten; along with several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Stan was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Kehr.
Friends may call at the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME, 44 Center St., Gowanda from 2-4 and 7-9 o’clock Friday, May 2. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday May 3, 2014 at 1p.m. (please note afternoon time) from the St. Joseph’s RC Church, 69 East Main St., Gowanda (assemble at church).
