Northern Chautauqua County Club Association meets

The Northern Chautauqua County Club Association recently held its regular monthly meeting at the J. Carter Knapp Post 953, in Forestville.

The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a moment of silence for deceased members of the clubs. Tom Halicki of the Post welcomed the group.

One club was absent for the roll call. Minutes of the previous meeting were read by Secretary Jim Pryll, and a financial report was given by treasurer Janis Dibb.

New business was discussed, and donations were made to Hanover Veterans Memorial Park, and the Musicians Against Cancer fundraiser.

Guests included Charlie St. George, and Mayor of Silver Creek, Nick Piccolo. Guest speaker was Kevin Johnson, the new mayor of Forestville. Mr. Johnson spoke of some of the goings on in the village making the news lately, and how proud he was of its residents for their understanding and community involvement.

Greetings were sung to Charlie St. George who celebrated his 89th birthday earlier in the month. A red, white and blue cake was shared with all his friends.

A get well card was passed around and signed by all present for friend and trustee, Jim Muscato.

Clubs then discussed their upcoming events.

The next meeting of the Association will be held on Sunday, May 18 at the Silver Creek Overseas Veterans, N. Main Street in Silver Creek. All club members are invited to attend.
