Lady Hillbillies take two from Lady Red Dragons

BEMUS POINT – The Fredonia Lady Hillbillies (11-0, 8-0) pounded out two five-inning shutout wins in a double header against the Maple Grove Lady Red Dragons in CCAA West I softball action on Saturday.

In Game 1, Baylee Tarnowski pitched Fredonia to an 11-0 victory.

Tarnowski pitched a five-inning complete-game shutout, allowing two hits while striking out seven.

Alicia Deering led the Lady Hillbilly offense with a home run, a double and three RBIs while Mekenna Leid added a 4-for-4 performance, including an RBI.

Bre Dahn contributed two hits and three RBIs in the win.

Lynne Nordin took the loss, throwing a complete game and allowing 12 hits while striking out three and walking one.

In Game 2, Lauren Milson threw a complete-game one hitter with six strikeouts.

Deering once again paced the Fredonia offense with two hits, including a double and an RBI.

Caitlyn Cybart was 2 for 2 in the win with an RBI while Leid was 2 for 3 with a double.

Nordin took the loss in Game 2 as well, allowing eight hits while walking one and striking out none.

Fredonia will play at Dunkirk on Monday at Promenschenkel Stadium.
