Scanlon nets eight as Black Knights down Eden

SILVER CREEK – Chase Scanlon had a career day with eight goals as he lifted the Silver Creek Black Knights (5-4) to a 14-5 victory over Eden on Thursday in Class B high school lacrosse action.

“Chase had a real good game,” Silver Creek coach Bill Brennan said. “He did well on faceoffs. He had some good looks and one-on-ones. We ran some plays and he got himself open.”

Bill Brooks added three goals while Sherman Williams, Connor Gates and Bryce Plecker each scored one.

Cameron Steeprock made seven saves in the win.

On Wednesday, the Black Knights took care of Medina, 19-8.

Aiden Jimmerson scored seven goals while Scanlon added five. Brooks and Plecker combined for five goals.

Steeprock made four saves in the win.

Brennan noted the play of his defense for giving up just 13 goals in two games.

“Our defense is playing good,” he said. “They are playing the system and trusting one another. It’s nice to have a defense coming together this time of year and playing well together. Cameron (Steeprock) does a nice job for a ninth grader in net.”

Silver Creek takes on Orchard Park today.
