Dunkirk competes at Joe Paterniti Memorial
JAMESTOWN – The Dunkirk Marauders received some solid performances in the rain-shortened Joe Paterniti Memorial Track Classic on Friday.
In the 100-meter dash, Dunkirk’s Nick Barlette placed second with a time of 11.39. Teammate Jose Morales finished fourth with a time of 11.67.
In the 1,600, Alex Tomaszewski placed fourth at 4:48.39. In the 3,000 steeplechase and Javier Soto took eighth at 11:40.49.
The 4×800 relay team of Ray Tarnowski, Giovanni Diaz, Tomaszewski and Ethan Francis took fourth place with a time of 9:02.28.
As for the girls, Rachel Rosas took first place in the 2,000 steeplechase with a school record time of 7:58.44. The time broke her own record from last season. She also took 4th place in the 1,500.
Savia Moreland (18.18) and Kelsey Slate (18.44) finished seventh and eighth place, respectively, in the 100 hurdles.
Faith Rivera finished fourth in the 400 with a personal-best time of 1:02.4. She also finished in third in the high jump.
Amancia Viera and Agape Berakah finished sixth and eighth, respectively, in shot put.
Samiyha Toomer finished third in the 100 meter.
