Brocton student reaches her goal of 100 Accelerated Reader points
BROCTON – Lil Zappie is a kindergarten student at Brocton Central School. She is an avid reader and enjoys reading chapters books. Some of her favorite books have been the Dr. Seuss books and the Junie B. Jones series. Currently Lil is reading her way through the Magic Tree House series.
Mrs. Becker, the school librarian, has encouraged Lil to visit the library every morning to take her Accelerated Reader quizzes and then she talks with Lil about books that may interest her. Lil has discovered that a library is an amazing resource for readers.
Mrs. Anderson challenged Lil to earn 100 Accelerated Reader points before the end of the school year. Lil completed her goal before the end of April. This is an amazing accomplishment for a 5 year old. Mrs. Anderson (reading specialist) and Lil enjoyed donuts together as they discussed other books for Lil to read. Lil has also set another goal. She wants to reach 200 points by the end of the school year.
Several students at Brocton will be reading their way into the 100th Point Club soon.
