Infinity Dance Academy having a stellar season
The Infinity Dance Academy dancers had a stellar season. Twenty-four members of the dance team attended three competitions this season.
In the “StarPower” Talent Dance Competition in Pittsburgh, dancers won eight elite high golds and one gold. Advanced tap finished with a first place in their division. Musical Theater also received a first place and was in the top 10 overall in the competition. Several soloists and duets/trio also competed. Kendra Dorman was awarded a gold and placed 10th overall in her division.
In April, the group traveled to Rochester to compete in the “StarSystems” Talent Competition.
Dancers received seven High Golds, 14 Elite High Golds and 5 First Place trophies. The Level 2/3 Tap and Jazz each took first place.
The Level 3/Intermediate Tap received an Elite High Gold and was fifth overall out of 19 in their category. This group was also awarded an Elite High Gold and scored fourth overall out 19 in the jazz category. The Level 3/Int. Lyrical and Hip Hop took first place and was fourth overall out of 17 in their category, as did Musical Theater. Bella Manning and Emma Luther received an Elite High gold and fourth overall out of 25 in their division. Infinity Dance was ranked second overall in the competition out of a dozen studios.
In May, Infinity traveled to Rochester again to compete in the “Starbound” dance competition. Infinity presented 22 routines and brought home six golds, 13 High golds and three Elite gold awards. Bella Manning and Emma Luther duet to “Took The Night” earned a High Gold and received the High Energy Award. Level 2/3 Jazz received a High Gold and also placed ninth out of 28 entries.
Advanced Hip Hop took first in their category. Level 3/Intermediate Lyrical class took home an Elite Gold and placed seventh out of 17 in its category. Also taking Elite Gold and placing tenth out of 28 was the Level 3/Intermediate jazz class.
Rachel Goodrich did a solo routine to “Titanium,” which earned her an Elite Gold.
Infinity’s recital performance will be held at Forest-ville High School on May 30 at 7 p.m. and May 31 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $11 at the door.
In June, Infinity dancers will perform their winning routines at the “Relay For Life” at SUNY Fredonia on June 14 at 2 p.m.
The group will then be traveling to Orlando, Fla., to perform in the “Dance The World” parade at Walt Disney World and to perform on-stage at Hollywood Studios at Disney.
