Pine Valley gets revenge on Forestville

SOUTH DAYTON – After suffering a 3-2 defeat to the hands of the Forestville Lady Hornets ( 5-5) last week, the Pine Valley Lady Panthers (7-3) responded with an 11-3 victory in the rematch Tuesday in CCAA East II high school softball.

Jessica Wilcox was the winning pitcher as she fanned 11, walked six and gave up two earned runs.

Laurel Killock led the Pine Valley offense with RBI singles in the fourth and fifth innings. The Lady Panthers scored five runs in the fifth inning, highlighted by a two-run single from Cassie Tingue.

Aleah Fancher had two hits and Alex Bentham had a single and two RBIs for the winners.

Alisha Szumigala was the losing pitcher as she fanned 11, gave up just one walk and five earned runs.

The Lady Hornets’ offense was led by Szumigala, Ashley Vanvuskirk and Julia Szoszorek as they each had a single.
