Conti takes first at D-1 qualifier at Tri-County

FORESTVILLE – Fredonia’s Joe Conti shot the low score of 6-over par 78 Tuesday during the CCAA Division I qualifier at Tri-County Country Club.

Following Conti were Olean’s Wil Bathurst (80), Jamestown’s Dylan Glatz (82), fellow Hillbilly Nick Pagano (84), Southwestern’s Jared Yartz and Taylor West, who both shot 85s and Jamestown’s Maxx Eilmiller (88).

Southwestern’s Evan Rodgers (90) and Fredonia’s Jake Szymczk (91) were the first and second alternates, respectively.

Dunkirk was led by Ryan Thompson’s 99, Taylor Matoon’s 106 and Bobby Kokocinski’s 108. Jake Lilly had a 97 for the Hillbillies while teammate Alex Ambrose added a 102.

Lockwood takes first

in Division 2 Qualifier

CLYMER – Maple Grove’s Wil Lockwood earned medalist honors Tuesday in the CCAA Division 2 West League Qualifier.

Lockwood shot a 74 at the Peek’n Peak Resort Golf Course.

Teammate Andrew Farnham placed second with a 75 while Chautauqua Lake’s Cody Lattimer qualified with a third-place finish, shooting a 78. Cassadaga Valley’s Anthony Miller placed fourth with an 83. Also for Cassadaga Valley, Titus Miller placed sixth with an 89 while Chautauqua Lake/Westfield’s Kole Maytum also shot an 89.

In eighth place was Cassadaga Valley’s Jarrett Blizzard with a 91. Chautauqua Lake/Westfield’s Nick Hudson also shot a 91. Blizzard won a playoff to qualify, while Hudson is now an alternate.

Forestville’s top golfer was Troy Torsell, who placed 19th with a 100.
