Putcher has Senior Night to remember as Lady Bulldogs win

BROCTON – Jess Putcher had a Senior Night game she won’t soon forget in leading the Brocton Lady Bulldogs (6-9, 5-7) to a 1-0 victory Wednesday over Clymer (1-8) in CCAA West II high school softball.

Putcher struck out 12 and gave up just one hit and no walks.

“She really shut them down,” Brocton coach Jeff Franze said. “That’s quite a line. It was all her. She will remember this for a while.”

The Lady Bulldogs scored the game’s only run in the sixth inning as Jess Merle walked, advanced to second on a fielder’s choice and moved to third following consecutive walks to load the bases. MacKenzie Evans then ripped an RBI single to plate Merle.
