Jones does it all for Gowanda in 7-2 win over North Collins

NORTH COLLINS – Da:Di’ Jones tossed a complete game Wednesday afternoon and went 3 for 3 at the plate, as Gowanda (13-2) dropped North Collins, 7-2, in non-league softball action.

Jones surrendered two runs, struck out six and walked two while adding a double, an RBI and three runs scored at the plate.

Malyssa Farley had a 2-for-3 day while driving in a pair of runs, Beth Sowa (2 for 3) had a double and an RBI, Tia Thompson was 2 for 3 and Raeann White had a home run in the bottom of the sixth for the Lady Panthers.

Sam Gier had an RBI single in the top of the second while also suffering the loss in the circle after allowing seven runs on nine hits. She struck out four and issued one walk on the afternoon.

The Lady Eagles final run of the game came after Jenna Keppel scored on a passed ball in the seventh inning.

Gowanda hosts Pine Valley in another non-league contest on Friday while also on Friday, North Collins plays host to CCAA East II foe Forestville.
