Pine Valley offense struggles in loss
SOUTH DAYTON – For the second game in as many days, the Pine Valley Lady Panthers (7-5) struggled getting hits in a 3-1 loss at the hands of Cattaraugus-Little Valley on Thursday in CCAA East II high school softball.
On Wednesday, the Lady Panthers recorded four hits. On Thursday, they managed just two hits.
“We were actually pretty happy with the offense,” Pine Valley coach Danielle Arnone said. “The girls were hitting balls nice and hard. It was just going right to the defense every time, it seemed. We had good, strong hits.”
Sarah Crandall was the winning pitcher as she fanned three, walked two and gave up an earned run.
Jessica Wilcox was the losing pitcher with four strikeouts, six walks and two earned runs.
Jamie Wilcox and Leah Fancher had Pine Valley’s only hits. Jamie Wilcox scored Pine Valley’s only run on a wild pitch.
