Brooks’ clinic to begin May 27
The devastating effects of falls and broken bones are often a feared risk for each of us as we age. To combat the potential outcomes seniors may face, the Physical Therapy Department at Brooks Memorial Hospital has developed a program to help seniors ‘stay balanced.’ Further, it can significantly lower the risk of falls and the potentially life-changing consequences.
On May 27, Brooks will begin offering the “Brooks Balance Clinic: Staying Balanced Throughout Your Life.” The clinic consists of 10 wellness and balance program sessions focused on strategies for staying balanced, decreasing the risk of falls and improving postural control.
The clinic will meet twice-weekly, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 1 p.m., for five consecutive weeks. The program sessions will be held at the Brooks Memorial Hospital Physical Therapy Department at 529 Central Ave., in Dunkirk. The cost for the program is $13 per session.
