Robert J. Pleszewski

DEWITTVILE – Robert J. “Toby” Pleszewski, 81, of Wright Road, Dewittville, died in the emergency room at Westfield Memorial Hospital. He was born December 27, 1932 in Dunkirk, the son of the late Nicholas and Lena Beiger Pleszewski. Toby was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a Deputy Sheriff with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department from 1958 to 1987 on the Navigation and Snowmobile patrol. Toby was a member of the New York State Magistrate Association, the VFW, American Legion, Ellington Rod and Gun Club, WARP, and the Deputy Sheriff’s Association. First and foremost, Toby loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Carla Siebert Pleszewski; one daughter, Nicole (Steven) Holt of Akley, Pa.; one son, Nathan (Cheryl) Scriven of Westfield; three grandchildren, Dylan Scriven, Brittany Pleszewski and Cody Pleszewski; and one sister, Patricia Piazza of Van Buren, NY. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Mark Pleszewski; three sisters, Beatrice, Hildagarde and Jeanette; and four brothers, Ralph, Raymond, Herbert and Nick. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
