Veterans invited to march in parade today

Veterans are invited to march during the Memorial Day parade, which begins at 11 a.m. today, in the city of Dunkirk.

For all veterans able to walk, Dennis Mulkin, commander of American Legion Post 62, has recommended one combined unit/honor guard, to be referred as “All Veterans Honor Guard” to lead our 1st Division.

All veterans unable to walk and wishing to participate, transportation will be provided by C.A.R.T.S. during the parade and returning them to Memorial Park at the completion of the parade.

If you are able to join us, please contact Jack Sievert, commander DJVC, at 366-4082. He will need your full name and phone number.

Please specify if you can walk the parade route in our Veterans Honor Guard or need to be driven in provided transportation. Every veterans organization is working the council to support this event.
