Yard sale/plant sale Saturday

Annual Yard Sale/Plant Sale will be held at the Ripley Free Library on Friday, May 30 and Saturday, May 31 beginning at 9 a.m. Proceeds go toward the Summer Reading Program. For questions, call 736-3913.

Lakeshore Humane Society plans Pet Adoption Day/Open House

The Lakeshore Humane Society will hold a Pet Adoption Day/Open House at its Adoption Center on May 31 from noon to 4 p.m. The center is located at 431 E. Chestnut St. in Dunkirk.

The public is asked to come to see the facility and meet some of the dogs and cats who need caring homes.

NCCC Chicken barbecue Sunday

A chicken barbecue is scheduled Sunday, June 1, from 1 to 3 p.m. Sponsored by the Northern Chautauqua Conservation Club Ladies Auxiliary, the event will be held at their Mullet Street Club Room, in Dunkirk. Proceeds benefit the club’s “take a kid fishing day.” $9 presale tickets are available at the bar.

Rabies Clinic in Pomfret Saturday

A rabies clinic will be held Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. at the town of Pomfret Highway Building on Chautauqua Road in Fredonia. Anyone wishing to volunteer, call Judy at 672-7992

Juneteenth Celebration June 7-8

A Juneteenth Celebration is scheduled on June 7 and 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Memorial Park, Dunkirk. A variety of cultural events and activities will be held. This event, sponsored by a group of local citizens, is celebrating its nineteenth anniversary.
