Westfield man charged after stabbing

Westfield Police responded to a report of a stabbing May 21 on East Main Street around 7:50 p.m. Police spoke with the victim at Westfield Memorial Hospital, where he was seeking treatment for his wounds. It is alleged Benjamin Alexander, 22, of Westfield, stabbed another male in the back with a knife. Alexander was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and arraigned in Westfield Village Court. Alexander was sent to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail. Further charges are pending.

Joshua A. Powell, 28, of Mayville, was charged May 22 with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia after police investigated a suspicious person in the area of East Main and South Portage streets. Police allege Powell was in possession of hypodermic needles. He was arraigned in Westfield Village Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail with bail. Further charges may be filed pending the results of the investigation.

Jacob M. Saddler, 20, of Westfield, was charged May 14 with driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher, uninspected motor vehicle and consumption of alcohol inside a vehicle. Westfield Police investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle in a business parking lot on Route 20 around 12:05 a.m. It is alleged Saddler was operating the vehicle and was allegedly intoxicated. He was issued tickets and released on his own recognizance to appear in Westfield Town Court at a later date.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office

CHAUTAUQUA – Troy D. Hess, 42, of Mayville, was charged Monday with trespass after he allegedly knowingly and unlawfully entered a property on Elmwood Road around 6:30 a.m. It is alleged Hess went to the residence several times throughout the morning to start an argument. He was issued a ticket and arraigned in Chautauqua Town Court. He was sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 property bond.

HANOVER – Justin C. Donnarmma, 22, of Wellsville, an 18-year-old male youth of Sloan and three 19-year-old female youths from Niagara Falls and Cheektowaga were charged with unlawful possession of marijuana Monday around 3:40 a.m. after a report of an under-age party on Iola Drive. Deputies allegedly found a small quantity of marijuana at the residence. It is also alleged the two female youths from Cheektowaga gave an incorrect birth date to deputies and were charged with false impersonation. All were released with tickets and will appear in Hanover Town Court at a later date.

NORTH HARMONY – Curtis D. Wood, 47, of Panama, was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se and speeding after a traffic stop on Route 474. Wood was allegedly found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody. He was later released with tickets to appear in North Harmony Town Court at a later date.

SILVER CREEK – Brittany Deloe, 24, of Silver Creek, was charged Sunday with second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, resisting arrest, second-degree harassment and disorderly conduct after deputies responded to a Hickory Street residence for a report of a disturbance. It is alleged when deputies arrived around 10:15 p.m., Deloe became irate and was screaming obscenities outside the residence. She also reportedly shoved deputies several times and physically resisted being taken into custody. Deloe was arraigned in Silver Creek Village Court and released on her own recognizance to appear back in court at a later date.

SHERIDAN – William J. Barnes, 53, of Silver Creek, was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher and speeding after a traffic stop on Route 20 around 2 a.m. It was allegedly found Barnes was intoxicated and he was taken into custody. He was released with tickets to appear in Sheridan Town Court at a later date.
