Dorothy May Nichols (nee Goot), 70, of Akron, NY, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014 in Buffalo General Hospital.
She was born in Jamestown, NY to the late Walter and Mabel West Goot.
Dorothy grew up in Stockton, NY and graduated from Cassadaga Valley High School. She was an excellent golfer, and had a “hole in one” to her credit. She also enjoyed video poker. She, and her husband, Dr. Howard C. Nichols, have lived in Akron, NY for the past 40 years, while spending summers at their Cassadaga Lake summer home.
Mrs. Nichols was the longtime office manager for her husband’s dental office in Akron, NY. Above all, Dorothy was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Howard E. (Lisa) of Willi-amsville, IL, Matthew J. of Johannesburg, South Africa, Joanne E. Hageman (Greg) of Rancho Verta, CA; her grandchildren, Chelsey, Tyler and Kaylee Nichols, Lindsey, Catherine and Jacob Hageman; a brother, Merle Goot of Cassadaga, NY.
Friends may call Saturday from 11 a.m – 1:30 p.m. at the LARSON-TIMKO FUNERAL HOME, 20 Central Ave., Fredonia, NY where a Memorial Service will follow at 1:30 p.m.
