Residents who sustained damage during rain storm urged to contact their municipality
MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Office of Emergency Services is urging owners who sustained damage to their homes or businesses during the May 21 rain storm that is not covered by their insurance to contact their village, town or city office as soon as possible.
“Small low interest loans may be made available to residents based on the number of homes and businesses affected,” said Julius Leone Jr., director of the Office of Emergency Services. “We believe there may be more individuals out there who have not reported any damage even though they lost their hot water tank or furnace as a result of the flooding and residents’ assistance in reporting these damages is greatly appreciated.”
Individuals should also photograph any flood damage to their property and keep receipts of any repairs that were made as a result of the damage.
Residents who are unable to talk to someone or leave a message at their municipal office should contact the Chautauqua County Office of Emergency Services at 753-4341.
