State is ‘Liberal Land’

A woman in Batavia has been re-sentenced for attacking a senior citizen at a big-box store when the senior asked, “May I see your receipt for the purchased items?”

This senior, who was 70 years old, was probably working at her age to pay for her health insurance and other bills that she doesn’t get for free. So she was attacked by a 28-year-old because the senior was only trying to do her job.

There was no reason for this attack. The senior received fractures to the side of her face after being knocked down to the ground. The attacker received originally a five-year sentence. The State Appeals Court ruled that the original sentence of five years was too harsh. So the Court of Appeals lowered the sentence to one year in the county jail with credit for time served.

So this monster is now out of jail while the senior is trying to heal not only her wounds, but her nerves as well. She will never be the same after this ordeal.

So, to the Appeals Court of New York, how harsh was the poor senior’s punishment just for doing her job? I now wonder where the attacker works, or does she?

This kind of attack should not be forgotten by the decent people of this state. Where is the punishment for the criminals? Only the innocent people are punished. There is no justice for them.

Welcome to Liberal Land.
