Brocton sorority meets

The ladies of the Brocton Preceptor Beta Epsilon Sorority met recently at the home of Valerie Lis. Jessie Hannold served as co-hostess.

The group received a thank-you note from the Portland Evergreen Cemetery Association for its recent donation.

On May 1, chapter members delivered pots of colorful violas to the residents of Star Apartments to celebrate May Day.

On Monday, May 19 the group cleaned out the Brocton Arch Park, across from the Village Hall, and the following week planted flowers.

Chapter members will be making up a decorative basket for the upcoming Darren Manzella-Lapeira Memorial Event on August 2. The group decided on a Beach Theme. Members will purchase various items one would use for a trip to the beach and will put the basket together at their Summer Birthday Picnic on June 3 at the home of Marie Zambotti.

Lis presented an enlightening program for the evening, “New Proven Winners of Annuals for 2014.” There were many novel flowers listed and she showed pictures of several. With spring finally here, members will be looking for some of these beautiful plants for their gardens.
