Depew resident, 28, dies in Dayton motorcycle accident

DAYTON – On Sunday at 7:58 p.m., the New York State Police at Collins responded to a fatal motorcycle accident at Edwards Corners and Cottage roads.

Initial investigation determined the operator, Patrick M. Foote, 28, of Depew, was traveling southbound on Edwards Corners Road approaching the “T” intersection with Cottage Road, when he failed to reduce speed and traveled past a stop sign through the intersection. He lost control of the motorcycle, was unable to negotiate the turn, and was thrown off the motorcycle.

Foote was pronounced dead at the scene by Cattaraugus County Coroner Howie Van Rensselaer.

Also on location were members of the the Dayton Volunteer Fire Dept, Perrysburg Volunteer Fire Dept, and South Dayton Volunteer Fire Company.
