One-car accident sends two women to hospital

SHERIDAN – Wet road conditions allegedly led to an accident Thursday on the Thruway that injured two women.

Silver Creek and Irving fire departments responded around 7 p.m. to an accident on the Interstate 90 near the Silver Creek/Irving exit.

According to Irving Fire Chief Gerald Rice, the car hydroplaned and exited the roadway, causing two unidentified women to sustain minor injuries.

Rice said it appeared one female suffered from a “goose egg-sized” bump to the head.

The women were taken by Alstar Ambulance to a Buffalo area hospital. The vehicle was not totaled, but was towed away.

New York State Police Thruway division also responded to the accident.
