Rev. Sharon L. Lynch Snowman

The Rev. Sharon L. Lynch Snowman, 71 of Lily Dale, passed to the spirit world, June 6, 2014.

Born July 9, 1942 in North Tonawanda, the daughter of the late Earnest and Joan Kogo Snowman.

She was a graduate of North Tonawanda High School and NSAC College of Spiritual Science receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Science in 1995 and holds NSAC credentials as an Ordained Minister, National Spiritualist Teacher, Certified Medium, Commissioned Spiritualist Healer and is a Certified National Lyceum Teacher.

From 1983-1989 she served as Pastor of the Center of Psychic Science Spiritualist Church which included the merger with the Spiritualist Church of Eternal Brotherhood, NSCA both of Buffalo and Pastor and at various times president and vice president of the Lily Dale Spiritualist Church during recent years.

The Rev. Snowman served as NSAC Secretary from 1990 until her passing and NSAC Missionary.

The Morris Pratt Institute, Milwaukee, WI was an important part of her life from 1980 until her passing and she served as Vice President from 1995-2000, Trustee, Examiner and Instructor. One of Sharon’s most important contributions was her work as compiler and author of the Pastoral Skills Course, currently used by MPI as an essential course for students of Spiritualist studies.

She was a regular instructor of the two-week Summer Residency Pastoral Skills Course and was at her best in full teaching mode and a beloved and admired teacher.

Sharon is author of three publications: Bible Stories for Children, featured in the Lyceum Spotlight Magazine; Church Membership Classes; and Beginning and Advanced Spiritualist Unfoldment Classes. She also authored many articles appearing in The National Spiritualist Summit Magazine.

The Rev. Snowman was a fifth generation Spiritualist.

She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Lily Dale VFD.

Long time companion of the late Peggy Johnson who passed to spirit in 2008; mother of Andrew Lynch of Lily Dale, Michael (Susan) Lynch of Dunkirk and James Lynch of Fredonia; grandmother of six; great-grandmother of one; sister of Robert Snowman of Auburndale, FL, Paul Snowman of North Tonawanda and the late Earnest Jr. and Paula Snowman. Also survived by a niece and nephew.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Lily Dale Auditorium, Lily Dale. A reception to immediately follow at the Lily Dale VFD.
