Dunkirk Memorial Unit # 62 American Legion Auxiliary meets

Dunkirk Memorial Unit #62 of the American Legion Auxiliary met Tuesday, June 10 at 7 p.m. in the clubrooms on Central Ave.

Del Jusko, president, opened the meeting.

Anna Schlichter, chaplain, said the prayer.

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and the preamble to the American Legion Auxiliary were recited in unison.

Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.

Kyle Ahlstrom, treasurer, gave her report.

The Poppy Days were a great success. Many members worked on this project.

Chaplain reported sending cards to ill members and one sympathy card.

Audrey Miga, membership chairwoman, reported 135 members paid to date.

Delegates Miga and Jean Sutton were elected to attend the state convention in July.

Donations were made to Kids Camp and the Boy Scouts.

The Auxiliary helped the Legion with the recent county convention at Dunkirk Post 62.

The membership discussed holding a Swiss steak dinner at a later date.

Some of the members will attend the men’s installation when Jack Hood will become the new Commander of Post 62.

Since there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
