Olde Time Fiddle Day to be held Saturday at Fredonia Farmers’ Market
The Fredonia Farmers’ Market will host an Olde Time Fiddle Day on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Local fiddle players Kathleen Peterson, Ed Fraser and his family, Dick and Carmen Gilman, Kerry Askin, and Cheryl Ritch will bring Church Street to life with square and contradance tunes, waltzes, jigs & reels and songs. Featured instruments will include fiddles, guitar, banjo, cello and maybe hammered dulcimer. Market patrons can enjoy the music while munching on free pancakes provided by Degolier’s Maple Products, peruse the many food, craft, and nursery plant options available at the market, or have an old fashioned photograph taken by Olde Tyme Photos.
The Fredonia Farmers Market operates on Church Street in front of Village Hall from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday through the end of October. Local vendors sell fresh produce and fruits, humanely raised meats and poultry, honey, maple products, free range eggs, goat milk products, bread, baked goods, fresh flowers, knitted wear, beach glass jewelry, baskets, and much more. EBT benefits as well as FMNP checks are accepted at the Fredonia Farmers Market for approved food items.
