CIAO plans family picnic, lists Italian festivals

CIAO’s annual picnic will be held at Russell Joy Park on Saturday, July 19 at noon, at the lower pavilion. Members are asked to bring a dish to pass, their own table setting and any beverage other than coffee. Limited bottles of ice tea, soda and water will be available.

Cost of the picnic is $5 for members, $8 for guests and nonmembers and children under the age of 12 are free.

Members’ dues are payable at this time. Single membership is $10, couple is $15 and family is $20.

The organization invites the community to come and join the fun. There will be free prize drawings and a 50/50 as well as an opportunity to purchase chances to win a beautiful gift basket .

“LaParola” will be available at the picnic for those who did not receive it electronically.

Several Italian Festivals will be held locally.

The Buffalo Heritage Festival will be held July 17 through 20 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. at 1207 Hertel Avenue, Buffalo, telephone number 877-1776.

The Rochester Italian Festival is scheduled July 17 through 19 at 150 Frank Dimino Way, Rochester. Phone (585) 594-8882. $5 admission and $5 on-site parking, off-site parking free with shuttle service. There will be live music every day. On Saturday a Dean Martin impersonator will be featured.

St. Paul’s Italian Festival, 1617 Walnut St., Erie, Pa. (814) 392-1730 ask for Theresa. August 8, 9 and 10. There is no admission fee.
