Animals removed from illegal Pomfret facility

An American black bear, a cougar and a serval were removed from an allegedly illegal animal facility this afternoon in the town of Pomfret.

According to an email sent to the OBSERVER by Charsleissa King, spokeswoman for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, officials seized the animals located at the All Living Things facility on Webster Road, which was operated by Wayde Forster, pursuant to a search warrant.

The Lions, Tigers & Bears Animal Rescue is working with the DEC to secure the animals and transport them to a new home in San Diego, Calif.
