Denny’s taking a bite out of cancer

The local Denny’s, including Managers Hillary Schnars, Andrea Mosher and Sandy Zipp, is joining in with a total of 180 restaurants throughout the country to raise funds for research and funding for children’s cancer. This is the third year the restaurant is participating in the sale of paper cookies, Cookie Monster pins and Cookie Monster treats. According to Schnars, the location is hoping to beat last year’s amount of $6,061 and all employees are “Cookie Monsters taking a bit out of cancer.” Currently, the location has raised over $3,700 and the fundraiser will end June 30. The local restaurant is hosting a basket raffle through Saturday and will host a bake sale on Sunday starting at 9 a.m. A second bake sale will be held at Walmart on Monday starting at 9 a.m. Pictured are Denny’s employees Heather Rafan (left) and Schnars.
