High honors

The North Collins Lady Eagles received the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association East II softball Team Sportsmanship Award and the Pine Valley Lady Panthers had four players receive First-Team recognition.

Cattaraugus-Little Valley’s Sara Crandall was named the Player of the Year while eighth grader Allie Haskell of Franklinville earned Pitcher of the Year honors. Cattaraugus-Little Valley’s Heather Hyde was chosen Coach of the Year.

Pine Valley seniors Kayla Mansfield and Cassandra Tingue, along with junior Alexandrea Bentham and sophomore Jessica Wilcox were named to the First Team. Forestville’s Alisha Szumigala (senior) was also named to the First Team, along with North Collins’ Arrika Bley (junior) and Jenna Keppel (junior). From Cattaraugus-Little Valley, senior Kaylee Eaton and sophomore Natalie Booth were named to the First Team as was Franklinville seniors Linnea Pollock and Ashley Leederman. Rounding out the first-team selections was Ellicottville senior Courtney Scanlan.

The Second-Team selection is highlighted by Pine Valley’s Aaren Waterman (senior), Aleah Fancher (senior) and Jamie Wilcox (sophomore). North Collins seniors Beth Kibler and Nicole Torrey were named to the Second Team as was Forestville’s Ashley VanBuskirk (junior).

For Cattaraugus-Little Valley, sophomore Hannah Powers was named to the Second Team along with West Valley’s Stephanie Stock (senior). Franklinville sophomores Jenna Hicks and Meghan McKune were named to the Second Team along with Ellicottville’s Elizabeth Wendel (senior) and Morgan Zlockie (sophomore).
