Laurie Ann Klaybor
7/19/57 – 6/10/14
Laurie Ann Klaybor passed away in her home on June 10, 2014 after a long battle with cancer.
She lived in Hillsboro, Texas, with her longtime friend, Joanna Roberts. Jo gave her tremendous strength during her illness and throughout her life.
Laurie was born on July 19, 1957 in Dunkirk, NY, to the late Lorraine and Leonard Klaybor.
She was predeceased by her older sisters, Kathleen Klaybor McAfee and Lois Klaybor Lawrence.
Surviving family members are Gary Leonard Klaybor of Myrtle Beach, SC; Mark Stanley Klaybor of New Orleans, La.; Michael Steven Klaybor of Dunkirk, NY; and Stephen Joel Klaybor of Redington Shores, Fla. “And then there were brothers.” She is also survived by her extended family, Kiersten Turpin, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Laurie graduated from Fredonia High School in 1975. Laurie was an extremely happy person, and made all of those around her happy. A prankster, but in a fun-loving way, people enjoyed being with Laurie. She worked in the food industry. Her choice of career was intensified by her outgoing personality. Laurie moved from the Dunkirk/Fredonia area while in her early 20s to Texas.
Laurie’s wishes were that her ashes be placed with those who died before her.
The Cornerstone Funeral Home of Hillsboro, Texas, is in charge of the cremation service. A memorial service and Mass will be held at St. Hyacinth’s Church in Dunkirk, NY, today at 11:30 a.m.
