Some changes coming for Cassadaga Beach

CASSADAGA – Now that the summer is finally here it is time to head out to the beach.

Beach goers in Cassadaga will see some changes effective July 14.

The daily rates will change from $1 per person to free for ages newborn to four, $2 ages four to 18, and $5 for ages 18 and up. The season passes will increase from $25 to $35.

Anyone living by the beach will still get to use the beach for free.

At a recent village board meeting, members were in favor of these changes, due to problems in the past.

“People would drop off truck loads of kids, and have our (beach) staff babysitting their kids all day,” Trustee Ron DeChard said.

“We will open the basketball court gate at the end for canoers and kayakers to use,” Mayor LeeAnn Lazarony said. “They can access the beach from there.”

“Don’t park your trailers by the beach,” she added. “You can park your trucks and cars there.”
