Weekend festivities kick off tonight with Music on the Pier

The Fourth of July weekend kicks off tonight with Extreme AC/DC-Dirty Deeds. Coming from Cleveland, Dirty Deeds brings the authenticity of Angus Young, Brian Johnson and Bon Scott as Extreme features hits like “Highway to Hell,” “Thunderstruck” and “You Shook Me All Night Long.” Spectators will have a tough time comparing not just looks, but the sound of this legendary rock band. Dirty Deeds is sponsored by Shults Resale Center

On Friday the Fourth, stop down from 5 to 8 p.m. and listen to the sounds of Nick Kobel, and of course, stay for the largest fireworks show in the area at dark.

Come back Saturday for Wreck and Roll, sponsored by DFT Communications. Enjoy or participate in the Superheroes of Chadwick Bay Build your Own Boat Race, sponsored by Casella Waste Systems at 1 p.m. and listen to “Fallen Union” play your favorite songs from 2 to 4:30 p.m.

Making its debut to the Dunkirk waterfront will be Maximum Force Wrestling. See your MFW stars such as Dunkirk’s own, Rico Cruz and the Escobar Brothers, Primal Warpath, Rick Abbey, but also WWE Legend Tatanka and WWE Hall of Famer Hacksaw Jim Duggan. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet these two superstars, as well as the rest of MFW. Tickets are still available for $15, but are going fast. Only people with tickets will be allowed to get autographs.

To close out the night, Hard Day’s Night will be playing your favorite Beatles’ songs beginning at 8 p.m. See “The Fab Four,” in the 50th anniversary of the Beatles coming to America, play their greatest hits from the early and mid ’60s in their black suits to the Sgt. Pepper’s era of the late ’60s. There is no other Beatles tribute band that is better.

Food vendors and a beer tent will be available all weekend in Memorial Park, as well as kids’ bouncers from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy all the different activities, food and music all weekend.
