Driving attendance at city park
Just like the city of Dunkirk Memorial Day weekend picnic event, the Sunday Harbor Cruise was able to bring lots of traffic to a real gem: Point Gratiot.
Attendees, and those showcasing their cars, came out in force and took advantage of the weekend weather hat trick – three consecutive days to be outside in comfortable conditions. Lake Shore Street Rod chairman Ken Doepp even voiced his approval.
“The turnout was phenomenal again this year,” Doepp said. “We’ve mixed record cars with street rods and we are full, and that’s a good thing. We let all the cars in for the show, and the number of spectator cars filled the Point up. We get people from all over, and the turnout has been great.”
Those cars, thanks to plenty of TLC from the owners, are treasures as well.
