Entries being accepted for Chautauqua County Fair’s ‘Battle of the Bands’
Entries are open for solo performers and bands wishing to compete in the Chautauqua County Fair’s first “Battle of the Bands” showcase. The competition will take place beginning at 7 p.m., Friday, July 25 on stage in the Budweiser Grandstand. The contest is open to all genres of music. Music can include cover songs as well as original music. (All pre-registered performers must arrive at the fairgrounds, or have a representative of their band arrive at the fairgrounds no later than 6 p.m. for pre-competition meetings).
All performers should be prepared to play four to five songs during the evening if necessary. There is no entry fee for the competition. All lyrics must be clean. Judges from radio, music and the performing arts will take part in the process as well as audience participation. Applications are available at the fair box office, Central Avenue in Dunkirk, or by request at firstname.lastname@example.org. The full schedule of performing times, etc. will be posted both on the official fair website www.chautauquacountyfair.org, as well as the official fair Facebook page, www.facebook.com/chautauquacountyfair.
Applications will also be available via download from the fair’s website. Prizes will be awarded and the winning soloist or band will have the chance to open for a number of upcoming festivals.
Admission for viewers is free and included in the price of fair admission. Tickets for the fair are available at numerous sites as well as the fair box office. Pre-sale tickets are now available online at the fair website.
