DTA donates to help city schools
Dunkirk Teachers’ Association donated $3,000 for Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS) at the different city schools The money was spent differently by each school.
At the high school level, students who consistently displayed excellent attendance and positive behavior were rewarded. The middle school will be using the money for mentoring social events, attendance, and incentives for parent involvement. School #3 used the money for their end of the year celebration, a magic show, and to have the zoo mobile come in the future. School #4 used their funds to book “The Quizmaster.” The students and faculty enjoyed an hour-long assembly that was similar to a game show with a lot of audience participation. School #5 will use the money to develop fall/winter/spring “elite” dinners for families and also to purchase prizes for their behavioral incentive program. School #7 used the money for golden ticket drawings, sundaes, cookie decorating, arts and crafts and “The Quizmaster” game show.
